The proposed district plan for East Herts was published by East Herts Council for public consultation late in 2016. Part of the proposal was to build 640 houses with school and local community facilities to the East of Stevenage in the upper Beane valley. This is Green Belt and over the years development has been resisted and refused by East Herts Council because of the effect on the Beane valley and neighbouring Walkern village.
RBRA objected to the proposal and the letter of objection can be viewed here.
All comments received during the Public Consultation period will be reviewed and assessed by the Government appointed inspector and the findings and recommendations are not expected to be made public until July 2017
